Website Accessibility Statement

B-12 RECOVERY is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience when viewing the content on this website. This commitment drives our efforts to improve the B-12 RECOVERY website’s accessibility for those with various physical challenges. Our objective is to remove as many technological hindrances as possible to allow everyone to learn about the services we offer.

This document describes the efforts we’ve made, and the ways that you as a viewer of this website can best leverage its assistive capabilities for maximum benefit.

This document also outlines the difficulties we face in navigating ever-changing rules and regulations for compliance with federal and state accessibility laws, and asks for your help and cooperation in advising us on needed improvements for greater accessibility.

Guidelines For The Best Website Experience

The B-12 RECOVERY website is designed for modern web browsers and current-model mobile devices.

For desktop and notebook computers, this website functions best with current versions of Microsoft Windows or Apple MacOS. Using the latest versions of mainline web browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Safari, will aid in ensuring the best accessibility.

Mobile devices with an initial release date within the last 10 years, running a current version of the iOS or Android operating systems, are optimal for accessing this website.

The B-12 RECOVERY website may not function optimally – or may not function at all – on older devices, or those using browser technologies not listed here.

Several visual and functional attributes of this website can be modified on demand to meet your needs by clicking the accessibility icon located in the upper right corner of the website’s pages.

There are many other freely-available browser add-ons and apps for improving website accessibility. We encourage you to visit the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative website for an up-to-date list of resources that can aid you in engaging with this and other websites.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At B-12 RECOVERY, we exist to serve our community, and specifically, to serve those who are in need of the supportive 12-step recovery environment we have to offer.

Our efforts are focused on achieving compliance with WCAG 2.1, level A in all relevant areas, and level AA where achievable and relevant to this website’s content. We use accessibility tools and conduct web page scans to assess the accessibility of this website, and perform updates on at least a semi-annual basis as needed to make improvements. We also review documentation and resources written by disability advocates on developing accessible websites, and make efforts to implement recommended changes.

This website includes helpful links to various organizations that are outside of the control of B-12 RECOVERY. It is critical to all viewers of this website to be able to differentiate between services provided by these external organizations, versus the services provided by B-12 RECOVERY. These links must be opened in a new browser tab or window so that they are not misinterpreted as services offered by B-12 RECOVERY. Where possible, efforts are made to indicate these links that will open in new tabs or windows.

The Challenges We Face

B-12 RECOVERY is a private, volunteer-based, non-profit organization. Our funding is limited. By the very nature of our altruistic mission and non-profit status, we MUST devote the majority of our funding to helping those we exist to serve. As a result, we must utilize the efforts of volunteers (including those with varying disabilities) to assist in our website’s accessibility evaluation, rather than costly efforts of professional consultant firms. And while our volunteers devote diligent time and efforts to this task, mistakes and omissions can and will occur.

We welcome your input! If you experience any difficulty in access to this website, our volunteers kindly ask for your assistance by taking the following actions.

  1. Forgive us, as God forgives. It is, and never will be, our intent to exclude anyone from learning about the services we offer.
  2. Contact us, advise us on the mistakes we’ve made, and give us an opportunity to make corrections and build a more accessible website experience for you and for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and your assistance in making our website inclusive for individuals of all abilities.
